How a best bet is chosen
Every game we cover has up to three picks — the moneyline, the point spread and the over/under — and each one gets a confidence score out of 100 from the same model, based on projected pace and scoring, recent form, rest, the standings and the bookmakers’ current odds. One of them is the game’s best tip, the pick shown in the Best tip column. When the best tip’s score reaches 86, the game appears on this page.
Nothing else is involved. No person chooses the picks, famous teams get no extra weight, and there is no fixed number to reach: a Wednesday with twenty NBA games can give one best bet, and a Sunday with three EuroCup games can give none. That is the point of a fixed minimum — it shows how confident the model is, not how much we want to publish.
Every pick is marked won or lost from the final score, for everyone to see, and never changed afterwards. The track record has every pick the site has ever made, and every game of the day — including the ones that did not reach the minimum — is in today’s NBA predictions.
